China Now Education Programme | Online resources: One Million Days in China | Workshops
The China Now education programme aims to encourage awareness and understanding of China’s fascinating heritage and contemporary culture. To help schools that are new to working with China, CHINA NOW has produced PowerPoint presentations for both Primary and Secondary school use in class or assembly entitled “Welcome to China”. Detailed teacher’s notes are also provided.
This PowerPoint presentation is an easy way to introduce China to students. The presentation can be used on its own or alongside the teacher’s resource pack for primary schools. In addition this section carries a wealth of resources to help you discover more about China. Thanks to the sponsorship of HSBC we can offer two educational downloadable packs, one suitable for primary age pupils and one for secondary school students. Designed for use in school, there are a range of easy to use resources, suggested activities, teacher’s notes and sample schemes of work. Many of these activities can of course also be carried out at home. Thanks go to Tom Boden, the Education Officer at the Museum of East Asian Art in Bath and Sarah Cleary for their work on these resources. Thanks also to Learning Teaching Scotland which has quality assured the materials as relevant to the Scottish curriculum.
